Transport & Logistics

We maintain a referral directory of verified Texas transport providers. Buyers needing delivery can request introductions and contract directly with a carrier of their choice.

About Our Role in Transport

Atlas Harbor is not a freight broker under 49 U.S.C. § 13102(2) and does not hold FMCSA broker authority. We do not arrange transportation, dispatch carriers, negotiate freight rates, or accept responsibility for delivery. We maintain a referral directory of verified Texas transport providers and provide introductions upon buyer request. All transportation contracts are executed directly between the buyer and the chosen carrier. Carriers set their own rates and operate under their own DOT/MC authority.

Transport Modes

Understanding your transport options is key to efficient fuel logistics. Here is a plain-English overview of each mode.

Truck / Tanker

Over-the-road fuel delivery using tanker trucks. Best for terminal-to-destination deliveries, smaller volumes, and locations without rail or pipeline access. Typical loads range from 7,500 to 9,000 gallons.

Common Use Cases:

  • Rack lifts to end-user locations
  • Last-mile delivery from terminals
  • Flexible scheduling and routes

Rail

Bulk fuel transport via tank cars. Efficient for large volumes over long distances. Requires rail-served terminal or transload facility at origin and destination.

Common Use Cases:

  • High-volume, scheduled shipments
  • Long-distance transport
  • Cost-effective for bulk quantities

Pipeline

Direct pipeline transport between connected terminals and refineries. Most cost-effective for large volumes but limited to pipeline-connected locations.

Common Use Cases:

  • Refinery to terminal movements
  • High-volume continuous supply
  • Terminal-to-terminal transfers

Marine / Barge

Waterborne transport via barge or vessel. Ideal for coastal and inland waterway movements, particularly along the Gulf Coast and major rivers.

Common Use Cases:

  • Gulf Coast port-to-port deliveries
  • Large volume coastal movements
  • Import/export operations

How Transport Coordination Works

For Buyers

When you submit a fuel request, indicate whether you need delivered fuel or will arrange your own transport (rack/lift). If you need delivery, we can introduce you to verified transport providers from our referral directory. You will contract directly with the carrier.

For Transport Providers

Once verified, you will receive direct introductions to buyers whose service area and equipment requirements match your capabilities. All carrier contracts are executed directly with the buyer.
